Adrian Alicea, is creating a collection for “rebirth”, to show, in February 2023 during New York’s fashion week.

The House of Alicea was born from his lifetime love affair with avant-garde fashion and the purest freedom of being an artist. Alicea sews by hand like a sculptor and shapes and molds fabric to fit the human form with care to the ornate details, in each design.

His unique style empowers and ignites change to transform this industry to a time when living, breathing artistic beauty of all forms graced the stage. It is felt that the fashion industry has become commercialized and lacks luster, at best, with mass-produced designs.

Alicea brings forth an explosive amalgamation of emotions meant to take your breath away leaving you yearning for more. As a former model discovered by Rae Dawn Chong, at the infamous, "Tunnel" nightclub, Chong invited him to walk for Thierry Mugler's couture show in Paris. With persistent effort, he continued working with Europe’s masters, Hermes, Giorgio Armani, Jean-Paul Gaultier, Gianfranco Ferrer, Vivienne Westwood, and Patricia Field. Alicea graced the stage with notable supermodels Iman, Naomi Campbell, Kate Moss, Christy Turlington, Debra Shaw and Veruschka von Lehndorff. He’s achieved the cover of Italian Vogue, an editorial spread in Vibe and other major publications. As a professional dancer, Alicea toured the world alongside the legendary Willi Ninja and Grace Jones leading to two electrifying performances in "Deep in Vogue" and "Waltz Darling", by the multi-talented, Malcolm McClaren and was featured in the CAMP Expedition at the Metropolitan Museum Of Art, in New York.

Alicea received the Emerging New Designer Award at the Cinema Film Fashion Awards 2017, in Beverly Hills, CA, alongside Akon, Sidney Poitier, and Samuel L. Jackson. A-List celebrities Zoe Saldana, Daddy Yankee, Marilyn Manson, Paris Hilton and Nick Cannon have been styled and dressed by House of Alicea, and Larisa Martinez wore one of his designs at the 60th Lincoln Center Anniversary.

You are invited to partner with House of Alicea and bring this thoughtful collection to life in a solo performance show. This season’s inspiration comes from the haunting and evocative artistry in Edgar Allen Poe’s, The Raven. Writing in the winter of 1845 in solitude, Poe parted the veil between the dead and the living to find answers. “To emerge from sorrow does not mean to leave our loss behind but rather to invoke and embrace the power of never-ending remembrance.”

Poetry and fashion will meet in this ancient interplay of style, movement and music. The collection draws from his epic journey through the decades as designer and dancer, muse and model, through light, dark, love, and loss. Raven-inspired natural elements of feathers and talons woven throughout a moody color scheme, silk entwines with tuille, and leather dances with lace will be included. Plaid and luxe wool warm the spirit and gauntlets gracing arms above decorous billowing gowns. Hoods and shrouds echo and soften memories, giving way at last to flowing cloaks to evoke the iridescent Raven’s wing. The Raven beckons all to rise above and experience rebirth.
